Before we can talk about Spicebomb Extreme by Victor & Rolf. We have to acknowledge first that this is a flanker of the legendary original Spicebomb released in 2012. The grenade shaped bottle contains an explosive and extrovert oriental – woody and spicy composition designed by perfumer Olivier Polge. Creating two diametrically opposed fragrant accords: 1. the addictive and fiery one and 2. the explosive and icy one. The fiery accord contains notes of chili, saffron, leather, tobacco and vetiver. The explosive one includes bergamot, grapefruit, elemi and pink pepper. Spicebomb can be described as the pinnacle of designer scents.
The intensity of Spicebomb continues on with the EXTREME flanker that comes with copper accents to the bottle.
The explosive composition highlights an aromatic lavender in unique way with tart spices. Lavender is mixed with caraway and black pepper, leaving a trail of hotness above masculine shades of tobacco and subtle, comfortable vanilla.
A delightful perfume that really outshines other attempts at sweet tobacco spice. While the original has a freshness to it, this one is more on the dark side and very much for winter. This is Christmas in a bottle for the gents.
House of Parfum rating of 7/10 for Extreme and the original Spicebomb a solid 10/10
