Costa Azzurra by Tom Ford

Pack your bags because Tom Ford is taking you to Costa Azzurra.  From the the house of Tom Ford’s description of this fragrance,
“Private blend Costa Azzurra captures the evocative mix of fragrant woods on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia. Its unique aroma of salty beaches, dry herbs, evergreen trees, and driftwood mingles with scents of the low, thickly forested landscape known as the Macchia—a tangle of oaks, juniper pines, and herbs.
Costa Azzurra comes from the Tom Ford line started with Neroli Portofino which are inspired by the Italian coasts and beach vibe.

Launched in 2014 and since then has been discontinued but can still be found as of Jan 2018.
Described as
Woody Aromatic fragrance for women and men.  Top notes are seaweed, driftwood, agarwood (oud), ambrette (musk mallow), celery seeds and cardamom; middle notes are juniper, myrtle, lavender, lemon, yellow mandarin and artemisia; base notes are mastic or lentisque, olibanum, incense, vanilla, vetiver and oak.
Out of all the blue bottled Private Line Tom Fords, Costa Azzurra captured me the most. I really loved the touch of seaweed and other beach elements captured in this fragrance. To me this is a perfect cruise vacation fragrance to somewhere tropical.

As I type this blog post it has come to my attention that it has officially been removed from the Tom Ford website. I had a Tom Ford representative inform me that it was being discontinued but didn’t know when that would be. The fragrance can still be found online for purchase till it’s gone.
Costa Azzurra can be a little polarizing to some. On one hand, there is a slight resemblance to generic masculine designer fragrances. And on the other hand, it has a really beautiful dry and realistic scent of natural driftwood, sea, and salty beach. I personally love it but I can understand that to some might brush it off as just another over expensive Tom Ford fragrance that can be satisfied by a bottle of Tommy Boy.
I highly recommend this not be worn dressed up. This is a much more fun in the sun fragrance showing skin.
House of Parfum rating of 6/10
