Armani Code Profumo by Giorgio Armani is a Oriental Spicy fragrance for men. This is a new fragrance. Armani Code Profumo was launched in 2016. Top notes are green mandarin, green apple and cardamom; middle notes are orange blossom, lavender and nutmeg; base notes are tonka bean, amber and leather.
This is a flanker of the original Armani Code. If you’ve ever smelled the original, which you can still purchase, you know that the original Armani Code is a masterpiece. Since the Armani Code, there has been numerous flankers that have come out and the latest has been the 2016 Profumo. The Profumo label on flankers has been the latest trend in male fragrance world. While the original is a masterpiece, I can’t say the same about this one.
Armani Code Profumo comes off very synthetic smelling and trying to hard to replicate the successful scent from Paco Rabanne ONE MILLION. The leather in it doesn’t smell sexy at all and more like an old car seat. After several hours it smells like tonka bean cologne mixed with women’s sweet powder-like perfume. Very bubble gum “club” like scent which is the trend these days. The original Armani Code was able to be classy and sophisticated while still being a “club” scent. Code Profumo comes off as too teenager like and much more immature.
Not Even Chris Pine, the face of this fragrance, could save this scent. So ladies before those gorgeous Chris Pine eyes draw you in to buying this for your man, please sample this fragrance for yourself and see if you like it. Definitely a fall/winter scent due to how heavy it is. Highly don’t recommend this be worn in a hot or humid climate. Unless you also like killing everything gets a whiff of your scent.
House of Parfum gives this fragrance a 4/10 rating. Sorry Armani but back to the drawing board you go. We say stick with the original and you can’t go wrong.
