Apple Brandy by By Kilian is an oriental and woody unisex fragrance. The nose behind this fragrance is Sidonie Lancesseur and launched in 2013. The fragrance features oak, labdanum, cedar and vanilla, and of course apple.
Apple brandy starts out with a beautifully done warming boozy apple smell, which isn’t reminiscent of cider at all and that’s a good thing. It smells like a subtle, infused flavor you’d expect from a fine brandy liqueur. By that I mean it smells like one complete, coherent, entity rather than a apple flavoring on some heavy boozy notes. It’s the whole package.
The ‘cask’ effect is a deep and gorgeous oak note which lasted on my skin for hours revealed that it actually has a really decent strong woody base.
To me, the top notes creates a wonderful impression of brandy/whiskey mingling with fresh apples. Very similar to Single Malt also by Kilian. If you love that boozy type of fragrance, then you can’t go wrong with this one. I would say this isn’t a versatile fragrance at all and only for the real fragrance connoisseur.
House of Parfum rating: 9/10. Original, creative, and very unique are some of the best ways to describe it.
